Scott Sharrard & Friends live from NYC’s Irving Plaza brought down the house last night. Dubbed the ‘secret show’ orchestrated by Grammy-nominee Sharrard, (former musical director/guitarist/vocalist of The Gregg Allman Band) the concert was part tribute to the late Gregg Allman and his final Grammy-nominated album Southern Blood and part celebration of the 47th anniversary of Live From The Fillmore East (1971) by The Allman Brothers Band (ABB). A portion of the proceeds benefited The Big House Foundation in Macon, Georgia.
THE LINE UP OF FRIENDS
Joining Sharrard on stage throughout the night was a stellar lineup of friends: guitarist Luther Dickinson and drummer Cody Dickinson (North Mississippi All-Stars), guitarist Tash Neal (The London Souls), guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, keyboardist Peter Levin (Gregg Allman), guitarist Junior Mac (frequent collaborator), bassist Adam Minkoff (Dweezil Zappa), saxophonist Jay Collins (Gregg Allman), trumpeter Reggie Pittman, saxophonist Kris Jensen, drummer Tony Mason, and bassist Brett Bass (Gregg Allman.
