The spirit of Woodstock lives on 50 years later and in perpetuity as people around the world celebrate the infamous three day music festival’s Anniversary. Despite several failed attempts to recreate the 1969 mega arts and music event, the old adage holds true: “you can’t keep a good thing down.” Or, in this case, a music festival.

PEACE, LOVE AND MUSIC - 1969

As we all know, The Woodstock Music & Art Fair, held in the community of Bethel, New York in August of 1969 became the most legendary rock music festival in history and symbolized the youth counter culture movement of the 1960s. Here’s a link to that legendary three day line up of 1969 that features so many present day rock heroes and iconic bands as Richie Havens, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Santana, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Grateful Dead, The Zombies and so many more.

The town of Bethel is the place where it all happened back in 1969. It is fitting that the 50th Anniversary Festivities are happening there, too. Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will offer a variety of special programming for those attending Anniversary Weekend events, exclusive for concert ticket holders. Guests will be able to From Friday, August 16 – Sunday, August 18th concert ticket holders will enjoy a multitude of pre-show festivities of live music, craft vendors, adult-art making, and games. Also on-site will be a plethora of food and beverage options available to purchase..

THE LINE-UP 2019

THURSDAY, AUGUST 15th to Kick-off the Festivities

Free screening of the Warner Bros. Academy-Award winning documentary, Woodstock: The Director’s Cut on the historic festival field — where the festival took place 50 years ago. To add to the festivities, Woodstock alum Arlo Guthrie will perform prior to the film screening, exactly 50 years to the day he appeared at the festival.
