On Monday night, May 11th, Tina Fey will host Rise Up New York to raise awareness and much needed funds to aid New Yorkers via the Robin Hood Organization, New York’s largest poverty-fighting non-profit.
It’ is evident that the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic has been New York, particularly New York City, where the population is large and dense. There have been several virtual pandemic relief concerts over the past few weeks benefiting different states. Now comes New York’s virtual benefit thanks to the teaming up of I Heart Media and Robin Hood.
“Rise Up New York!” will be hosted by Tina Fey and will feature New York City’s biggest musicians, actors, comedians that will include appearances by Governor Andrew Cuomo, Angie Mar, Barbra Streisand, Ben Platt, Bette Midler, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Chris Rock, Christopher Jackson, Cynthia Erivo, David Chang, Idina Menzel, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Lopez, Jimmy Fallon, Julianne Moore, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Robert De Niro, Spike Lee, Sutton Foster, Trevor Noah, and New York Giants Super Bowl champions Eli Manning, Justin Tuck and Phil Simms. The show will also feature musical performances by Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Mariah Carey and Sting, among others

The virtual fundraiser will also be televised nationally on CNBC. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit The Robin Hood Organization. This organization has been lifting families out of poverty in New York for over 30 years.
Robin Hood’s relief and recover efforts, will directly support the organizations on the frontlines that serve NYC’s most vulnerable during the COVID-19 crisis and its aftermath. The donations will provide support for food, shelter, health and mental health services, legal services, education, and more.
