Socially Sparked News’ Spotlight Artist – Bad Ass and Blind Man – Raul Midón reveals the top three moments of 2017 that Socially Sparked® his life. Midon is nominated for a 2018 Grammy® Award for his album “Bad Ass And Blind” (Mack Avenue) in the category Best Jazz Vocal Album.
Raul Midón's Top Three Socially Sparked® Moments
- I’m inspired by the kindness of strangers. Being blind offers a social experiment in itself because I can’t see people so when someone offers assistance — perhaps on a plane, “Hey you dropped your ear buds or the smallest thing,” — that can move me.
- There’s a little girl in Miami who is the daughter of a good friend. She happens to have Down’s Syndrome. She also happens to love my new album, and the song Bad Ass and Blind! It blows my mind when I hear her say she loves my music! Apparently they have to put the album on in the car or she won’t go to school! Totally motivates me!
- I’m so moved by how my music can become a part of people’s lives. This couple in Germany told me they spent their first date listening to my music and now 10 years later, they have three kids and a beautiful life. They listen to my music every Sunday and it’s stories like that, that help me maintain an attitude of gratitude!
