Today is National Radio Day — a time to recognize American Radio and all the people involved in the industry. We salute the inventors, all stations, broadcasters, producers, reporters and deejays.
Radio has Socially Sparked® our lives for over 100 years. Invented in the 1890s, it is still a vital communication medium. The radio not only provides us with a great source of entertainment, by broadcasting the news and playing music, it is also used by the military and police for communication, as well as being a great asset for pilots and ship captains for navigation.
