swing and soul to electrify France Rocks Summerfest

France Rocks SummerFest month-long music festival showcases a wide array of French music

Swing and soul music are expected to electrify France Rocks Summerfest finale shows. The month-long music festival began in New York City June 1st and will end next week on July 13th.

Now finishing its second year, France Rocks Summerfest showcases the expansive wealth of diverse musical talent coming out of France. Over 30 artists spanning a variety of genres from indie pop, rock and electronic to jazz and world music, graced the stages at over 20 NYC venues to perform free and ticketed shows. Venues ran the gamut from Central Park SummerStage to Lincoln Center’s Atrium to the most intimate performance spaces throughout the Big Apple.

Two incredible music shows remain, and both promise to blow the roof off their venues. Friday, July 7th, music lovers can gear up for a roaring party with Parisian-based electric swing band Caravan Palace at Irving Plaza. Show starts at 7pm.

Next Wednesday, July 13th brings a bit of soul to Atrium Plaza Lincoln Center, where music fans and non fans alike can hear the french soulful music of Blick Bassy. Show starts at 8pm.

Billed as the largest French music festival in the United States, France Rocks Summerfest is a co-presentation of The Bureau Export, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, and France Rocks, in partnership with a network of major venues and institutions.

It’s been an incredible month of live music in New York City. The second annual France Rocks Summerfest coincided with the first-ever New York City Music Month (NYMM) and other annual festivals and events as The Governor’s Ball and NYC Pride March.
