LGBT History Month sparks this October. The annual month stresses the vital importance of recognizing and exploring the role of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people in American history.
According to the creators of this annual campaign, the LGBT community is the only community worldwide that is not taught its history at home, in public schools or in religious institutions. LGBT History Month provides role models, builds community and makes the civil rights statement about our extraordinary national and international contributions.
Each year LGBT History Month celebrate achievements of 31 lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender Icons. An LGBT Icon is featured each day in October along with a video, bio, bibliography, downloadable images and other resources.
The LGBT civil rights organization Equality Forum coordinates LGBT History Month. The non profit has an educational focus and also produces documentary films, undertakes high-impact initiatives and presents the largest annual national and international LGBT civil rights summit.
Equality for all no matter gender, race, nationality, and so forth is an issue that remains a constant presence as we near 2020. LGBT History Month sparks in Cctober and more as it celebrates its icons and promotes equality. — We are forever Socially Sparked® — Tweet us @sosparkednews
