The Social Good Summit kicks-off UN Week and UN General Assembly Sessions, where diplomats from around the globe assemble in NYC to address the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (a/k/a Global Goals). THE TECHNOLOGY: Elsa D’Silva, a panelist and social entrepreuner spoke of her hopes of making cities safer for women. D’Silva and a group of friends developed Safecity — an app that crowdsources and documents incidents of sexual harassment and assault that occur in public spaces. To date, they have collected over 10,000 stories from over 50 cities in India, Kenya, Cameroon and Nepal.

New UNDP Goodwill Ambassader Bob Weir speaking at the “Clickability” Session at the Social Good Summit in response to a query on how he became involved with sustainable activism. He went on to say that “your actions amount to your worth,” referring to a technology that will hold accountable corporations that committed to the SDGS. A ‘proof of analytics’ so to speak.
